We are offering an exciting array of classes for all age groups. All levels of skill welcomed – special encouragement for those who have always wanted to draw but have been intimidated. This session offers an opportunity to sample a class at our center at Barber Hill Health and Wellness in beautiful upstate Basic Art Experience: 4-8 years. Study will include learning about and developing patterns, play with colors and basic exploration of drawing. The emphasis will be on allowing children to explore and develop their own styles. 7 sessions Weds. 9-10 AM Sept. 15, 22, 29 Oct 6, 13, 20, 27 $70+$5 studio fee Fantasy Art: For the child in everyone! Students will study fantasy art & cartoon drawing & mythical creatures. They will be encouraged to develop their own creations. 11 sessions Thurs 4-5:30 PM, Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30 Oct. 7, 14, 21, 28 Nov. 4, 11, 18 $165+$5 studio fee Basic Drawing: 9-adult. Study will include basic rendering, shading, composition, using the line, learning to see, drawing from life and more. 11 sessions Thurs 6-7:30 PM, Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30 Oct. 7, 14, 21, 28 Nov. 4, 11, 18 $165+$5 studio fee Charcoal and Graphite: Teen & adult. Study will include techniques in drawing using pencils and charcoal. Bring 9”x12” or larger sketch pad, pad of newsprint paper, set of drawing pencils and set of charcoal drawing sticks. 11 week course: Sun 5-7 PM: Sept. 12, 19, 26, Oct 3, 17, 24, Nov. 7, 14, 21, 28, & Dec. 5 $195+$5 studio fee * No class 10/10 Marvelous Mandala’s: The sacred mandala is found in artwork around the world. This class will explore the development of mandalas as an art form. We will study rendering, tone, color theory, design and patterns. Students will design their own mandala. All levels of experience, including those of you who have always wanted to draw but thought you couldn’t, are welcome. Class size is limited. Bring a sketch pad 8.5” x 11” or larger, pad of black paper 11” x 11” or larger, 2B pencil, set of colored pencils, kneaded eraser, white eraser. $5.oo studio supply fee/class Private lessons available on request

Let’s Play! – Art for All!
Drawing Class: Instruction will include basic and advanced techniques including drawing, composition, learning to see, drawing from life, using line, shading and more. The emphasis will be on allowing the creative process to develop. All levels of drawing ability welcomed! Special encouragement is given to those who have always wanted to draw but find it intimidating. Bring a sketch book that is 9”x12” or larger, pad of newsprint paper that is 9”x12” or larger, set of pencils to include at least 2B, HB, H 2H, kneaded eraser, white eraser.
Drawing for Kids: For kids with a variety of experiences with drawing. Basic and advanced drawing techniques will be addressed. This course will cover a variety of techniques including learning to see like artists see; shapes, shading, and representational drawing. Colors will be introduced if there is an interest. Enjoying the process of creating is the goal of our classes! This is a unique opportunity for your child to learn about art, art history, materials, media, and have a ton of fun to boot!

Drawing with Spirit: The study of emotions in art. Students will study the variation of people’s facial characteristics when they experience different emotions. The impact of color, shape and texture on the portrayal of emotions will be explored.
