Unique & Wonderful Gifts!

It's Easy!

And now is your chance!

To order a portrait (head and shoulders only):

Send an email to me with a picture (jpg file) of the person or animal that you want drawn. Make sure that the picture is very clear, especially the eyes. The clearer the picture, the clearer the drawing will be :). (And I like really clear drawings!) I will draw from that picture using pencil. If you like, please include a little about the person or animal and let me know what you love about him or her. What made your relationship so special? This information will help me to breathe life into the likeness that is created.

I take great pride in my work and because I have to like what I draw, I am sure you will like it too!

A little about me: I have always drawn. Especially I have drawn people. I remember when I was 14 and my older brother brought one of his friends from college to our house for a holiday. Both me and my younger sister developed a crush on him. (I don't think either of us told him . . . I wonder if he ever knew?:)) After they went back to school, I drew a picture of his face. My sister found it and immediately knew who it was and then she had evidence of my crush . . . . I don't think she was too mean to me about it ;).

I grew up wanting to be an artist - and a psychologist so I could do counseling. But, I did not know how to make a living as an artist and I thought I would have to go to school for too long to become a psychologist so, I became a special education teacher. Make sense out of that! While I was going to college, I kept taking art classes (what a relief they were after those very dry education classes!). I graduated having two majors, studio art and special education, as an under graduate. Though I came to love my work as a special education teacher, I still wanted to do counseling so I eventually obtained a Masters in Social Work. I mostly work now with young children with disabilities and their families. I also specialize in working with children with severe behavioral challenges and their families. The work I do with these children and families is very dear to me. Sometimes, I think, the more complex, the better! Did I mention that I was raised in an unorthodox and creative family of 10 kids? I also provide private counseling services. I love the work I do with people.

All throughout this time I have continued to draw and create art projects. Drawing is simply woven into the fabric of my life. It brings me great joy and more than that, drawing is simply a part of me.

Portrait drawing is a wonderful way to pull together these two different parts of my life. When I draw people, I come to care about them. I often feel I begin to know them. I treasure the opportunity to draw.

I am also a mom, a wife, a chauffeur, a maid, a peaceweaver . . . .

I look forward to working with you!
